Greetings!
Just joined, and thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mark and I live in California. I own 2 Shopsmith 10-ERs, both I believe are from 1951. I have all the attachments (x2) including two jig saws, speed reducer, precision dado, and a joiner-shaper. I even have the original manual, the 3 issues of Shopmag and the first 9 issues Shopsmith Shavings. I have used my Shopsmiths for fun and profit since I picked up the first one in 1995 at a garage sale for $60 (including attachments and turning tools). I am now focusing on turning.
Happy New Years!!

Welcome to the forum mark-b. You will find all kinds of useful and helpful information here. We are a bunch of friendly folks. What part of Calif do you live in. There are many members living there and you may have a fellow SS owners close by. I came from Palmdale in the Antelope Valley before relocating here in middle TN. Also turning is one of my favorites.

Welcome to the forum! It's good to see another ER owner/user on board. I also have 2 ER's. One is rather incomplete so I use it as a dedicated drill press. The other has all of the "basic" accessories (the ones that shipped with the machine) and jig saw. I don't have a speed changer for either one. I completely restored both of them. I also have a Mark V with a bandsaw that I traded for recently but I haven't even begun restoring it yet. I'm hoping to do that soon!

Yes, we did that on November 4th. The yahoo's had 5130 members and the Shopsmith group had 5131.
Right now we have 5383 members and the yahoo's have 5167 members.

Dusty, neat to know. I remember when it was a topic a lot but as I see it with the company Home Office getting smaller we are getting bigger trying to keep it alive and back to normal. I am hoping this year will bring some of it back to us and maybe some of us together also. Really wish I had made time from work to go to one of the yearly meeting. Like always was going to go the next year.
That should tell me something. Life keeps changing and don"t miss any opportunity when it is there in front of you to experience.
