I have posted before but I thought I would introduce myself. I'm Mark. I'm from Southern Ohio. I just got my shopsmith in November of last year and have been replacing abused/worn parts. (Well the thing IS 30 years old.) I've appreciated the helpful and warm spirit I've seen here. I FINALLY got everything I need to make a tiny bit of sawdust this afternoon. My shopsmith was my cousin's until he had to move into an assisted living community, and my mom bought it from him at a house auction, and gave it to me as a gift. The first attachment I've tried was the bandsaw, which is very cool. (I had to order a connector from SS.) I replaced the speed control and the lower floating sheve also. So, come spring, it will be out in my workshop instead of the living room, and I'm looking at what you all do for inspiration. I am waiting on spring to try the lathe because I don't want to do that one in the living room where I've been working on it. That's all.

Hey Mark!
That name sounds familiar:rolleyes: Oh Yea!! Thats my name, Oh well welcome to the forum. Running a lathe in the living room probably aint a good idea, better roll it into the kitchen and turn on the exhaust hood:)

Welcome, Nice to see fellow Buckeye's... Come just a few more miles North and you'll be in my neck of the woods.

I've got 3 Shopsmiths and all the attachment tools, stands etc. I'm collecting planers and planer parts at the present

Not really much into making crafts and furniture but more into home construction, room addtions, remodeling etc. yet the Shopsmith equipment I have gets a workout.

Have fun on the forum!
