Missing capacitor on Greenie?

I know why they are called "Greenies" now, its not the color they were, its what they Eat. ALMOST Finished.


One strange thing I am noting.. NO CAPACITOR? I dont seem to have any problems with this and am inclined to leave it as it is.

The motor seems to have a newer label on it as if it was rebuilt and changes were made or what. Any thoughts?

Did you look inside the motor?;)

Nope.. only causes problems when I look inside motors

Then don't look and just make saw dust. However, the capacitor is often not visible. If you don't know what your looking for you can't see it on the Power Station or the Crafter's Station. Furthermore, not all motors require a capacitor boost.

The capacitor is not a 'boost', but rather a method of getting it started. It provides current phase shift so as to provide a strong rotating magnetic field to cause the rotor to begin to rotate in the desired direction. Once the rotor is spinning, the field windings provide this field.

It is correct to refer to it as a 'boost', but it is much more than that.

There are other methods/types of motors that use different 'starting methods'.
