Hello all. I've been away from the forum for awhile. Glad to be back.

Some of you may remember my Texas Tele Project I had going last year. It's still in the finish stage...I've had a couple of issues with the finish that I want to sort out before applying clear coats, but it's close.

Meanwhile, I've been working on several other guitar projects. The most recently completed is a Maple Thinline Tele.

Some sounds clips:

A studio track I produced using the guitar...both parts are the same guitar.

All Out

Individual pickups thru a Line 6 FlexTone II, clean with a bit of delay.

Neck Pickup

Neck and Bridge

Bridge

I have 3 other guitars under way. All Teles.

One made of Alder/Maple, one of Quarter Sawn Ash and onr from Walnut.

Lots more planned into Spring. Les Paul, EVH Wolfgang and a few Strats.

Peace,
Mark

Very pretty, what's the finish? How many coats?

Thanks Doug! It's Target EM6000. This guitar has 8 coats on it. Level sanded after 4 coats, then again after 8.

It's a water based lacquer...acrylic actually but it's formulated to mimic the look and more importantly, the feel of nitro lacquer. Very, very low VOC and zero explosion risk. And it's very cool to be able to rinse my gun out in the sink with warm water.

Peace,
Mark

WOW! Great lookin job! A true masterpiece. Wish I had the talent to make such an artful piece of work.

Some of us can, some of us can't. I'm just a Tele player who has to rely on Fender to make my instruments. I can however make a mean foot-stool..!:D

I don't know which I like better, your guitar or your playing... both are great!! Nice to see you back at the forum - How 'bout making a Vox Phantom IV bass repro?! I used to have one and stupidly sold it...:( With your skills I bet it would be even cooler!! Alec

Hi Doug. Thanks! I could make a few footstools out of my failed guitar attempts. What's that old saying about the difference between a pro and an amateur? The pro being able to hide his mistakes? Yep, I'm a pro...or at least one in the making.:D

Peace,
Mark
