Is your cutoff sled accurate?

Post by dusty »

There's been a lot of discussion recently about cutoff sleds, miter slots, and miter gauges.

For those of you who don't feel that "close" is good enough, you might find these articles to be helpful. I was taught the three cut and five cut methods in high school wood shop many, many years ago.

I found them again last week while surfing the internet.

I use the one cut method almost every time I start a project.

Thanks Dusty, great article on aligning the table and miter gauge.

I've always aligned the left miter slot with the blade because it is easier to align with the blade to the left of the table. Next time I will align the right miter slot to the blade because that is the one my sled runs in.
