2 bearing quill rebuild

Ok I need some help here.
I have opened the quill and removed the front bearing. I pulled the 'roll pin' and I cant get the last bearing off. Is this a sleeve/spacer that should slide off? Does the shaft split at the pin? What is up here?

Can one of you more experienced gentlemen help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

Where/what do I need to do to remove the last bearing.

From what I have heard, the roll-pin is there when the quill-shaft is a 2-pc assembly. But I have no personal experience on this one. Nor have I changed the bearings on a 2-bearing quill.

I have changed bearings on a couple of (visually identical) single-bearing quills. One of them was easy to change by hand only. The other needed a puller to do the job. I remember Bill Mayo saying that the ideal setup is for a pretty firm press-fit.

OK I found, as stated above, that the shaft was a split shaft and it separates at the junction just below the second bearing. It was rusted tight and wouldn't budge by hand. I soaked the junction in wd40 and then gripped the splined shaft with some sacrificial aluminum plate (so as not to damage the splines) in a vise. I then used a punch and hammer to separate the shafts.

Since I wasn't trying to save the bearing that made a good surface to apply some persuasion to. This allowed me to separate the two pieces without doing any real damage. then I pressed off the old bearing. Cleaned up all signs of corrosion and reassemble the quill with new bearings.
