The original sheave spacer was quite thin. I normally find the fan sheave sheave set screw has loosen and allowed the thin spacer to cut into the back of the fan sheave hub. The new sheave spacer is much thicker and can be used even when the thin spacer has cut into the fan sheave hub. I use blue LocTite on the fan sheave set screw when installing the fan sheave.charlese wrote:I believe the spacer that fits on the motor shaft is somehow crushed or missing. That part is called a Sheave Spacer - (PN, 504205) - $1.45.If this is the case, it's an easy fix.
Wait for others to offer an opinion before jumping into repair. There may be different causes on different models. Removing the tension spring will take special methods.
