Your post caught my eye, I had a minor problem today crosscutting 2x4 pine but mine was on a 60 deg angle, what was happening to me was the work was slipping back on me, not real sure about this hold down on my miter, once I realized waht was happening I put the pressure to it (more than I thought I would need to) and had no more problems, BTW my blade is new!
