Help. When I advance the quill. the rotation stops. When I retract it, the rotations starts again. I can't use it as a drill press. How can I fix it? Any and all input will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If this is a current machine then:

I would unplug it, open the access cover and using a flash light look in the hole and look for the drive ring assembly on the end of the splined quill shaft. This part has a retaining ring the "clips" it in place, however if it is not it could slip forward when you operate the quill and this would remove power.... kind of a long shot but that is the only thing I can think of.
