I've finally rounded up motor bearings for my Franklin Electric motor (which takes 16mm bore) and have reassembled everything except the motor and switch. During reassembly, I noticed I'm missing two small parts; a #37 feed stop washer, and a #83 dial spring. Does anyone have extra of these sitting around that they'd be willing to sell (or another source)? If so, send me a private message. Thanks.

Are you SURE the shaft is NOT 5/8"(0.625in = 15.875mm)[16mm = 0.630in]???
For the spring and washer, try SS customer service!

No extra parts, but a comment: I've seen various-vintage units running with and without that #37 washer. I would say if the system goes back together OK and the #34 feed stop doesn't rub on anything during operation, then you may be OK without washer #37. I'm not positive it was always needed.

Yes, the shaft is 5/8 for most of its length (it actually is a LOOSE fit for a 5/8 ID bearing) but expands to 16mm where the the bearing sits. The old bearing even had "-16" engraved on its face. I took the shaft to a bearing shop and they micro'd the shaft and ID'd the bearing for me. I remember another forum member posted a picture of his Franklin Electric 3/4 HP motor that looked exactly like mine; it sure looks original as if the mounts were made for the Shopsmith pan.

You did it right!!! The washer prevents wear on the retaining ring.
