Title: Turned Bowls Made Easy
By: Bill Grumbine
Source: Packard Woodworks Inc. http://www.packardwoodworks.com
Item # 182705
Cost: $29.95
The above DVD by Bill Grumbine is excellent! He takes you step by step thru the entire process....from chainsawing a log (the proper way) to the final polishing of a bowl. The DVD is 2 hours and 15 minutes long.
Bill Grumbine is a very likeable individual that bascially tells it like it is! By following his method, which saves you a lot of time, and frustration, you are prepared for the next step, as everything falls into place, truly making turning a bowl an easy process.
I have taken a few turning classes over the years, and found, from experience and frustration, that a lot of things that are needed are left out, due to class size, lack of materials, etc. This is where the above DVD stands out. He shows you everything step by step, and by following his method, you are prepared for the next step, and the one after.
Just like everything else, everybody has their own way of doing things! He will tell you that right up front, and then tell you why he does it his way! He shows you four basic bowl gouge cuts that will get the job done fast. Lathe setups are covered from the beginning to the end, with safety always in mind.
For me, it was worth the money!:)
