I just got an e-mail from Highland Hardware and it they introduced a new tool called the Power 8 Workshop.
Interesting! It is circular saw, table saw, drill, drill press, saber or jig saw and a scroll saw along with a light, all in one very tidy package and is 18 volt cordless.
Take a look

Highland has it priced at $349.
I would think it would be super for most small home repair and hobbiest.
Interesting!!!!
Very interesting

That is a really interesting tool(s). And it causes me to wonder what everyone's opinion is on cordless tools, specifically the amount of power available and the length of time before downtime to recharge. Personally, I'd prefer to have a cord and sufficient power when I need it. But then I haven't really researched the latest in battery tech.
I do like it's portability, or more to the point how it all stows so compactly when not in use.

As I understand from someone at Highland Woodworking. a few decades ago they were called King Hardware, and they were Shopsmith distributors.
When we travel up and down I 75 we often stop in at Highland. I'm also ordering more and more items from them on-line. They also have a lot of woodworking classes. You need to take a trip up there to Atlanta sometime.

That is so cool! A Mark V in a lunch box. I almost wish I could say I needed one!

I remember seeing a segment about this tool on "Cool Tools" on DIY or HGTV or whatever channel it's on. Pretty cool, but definitely only for very small projects.

It looks like the tool that gives - then takes and takes and takes. Batteries and more batteries. If I had this tool, I'd be buying batteries during all the shut downs. At least until I junked it! Pretty soon, if I let it, the overall price would double.
Not for me!
