Wiggle room

I have had my Mark V for a few days now and I am curious as to the amount of wiggle in the table saw. When the Arbor is secured onto the Quil spindle the blade moves can move back and forth by about a quarter of an inch. The movement is between the silver metal ring and the quil.
Is this normal?
If not is there a common fix?
There is a screw that secures the silver metal ring to the quil but I am not sure why. Does that com off?

Yes, that collar comes off. Just remove the set screw (so that you know for certain that it is not holding the collar in place) and pull it straight off. There are no threads or anything else holding it (except crude). The collar is often very hard to remove if it has not been off recently.
If assembled correctly, I know of nothing that would allow the quill to be movable when the quill lock is secure.
Actually, I just checked mine and find that it moves in and out about 1/16" without move the quill handle. I unlocked the quill, moved the quill out about 2" and while holding the quill handle in my left hand - pulled and pushed on the quill collar. As stated - it moves only slightly.

The quill shaft has two tapered flats. The one for the arbor etc is visible.
That silver metal ring you describe is secured to the shaft(on the second tapered flat). If it is not pushed in towards the quill body, the quill shaft can slide in and out(and maybe slide the bearing in/out at the same time.
Remove the setscrew from the silver metal ring and remove it as Dusty suggested. Then you can see the second tapered flat(smaller than the arbor one). With the ring off, make sure the bearing is seated fully into the quill. Slide the ring back on and press it against the bearing inner race(push on ring(firmly), pull on shaft(to take any play out)), position it so the setscrew is directly over the small flat and tighten while rotating the ring to insure it is directly over the center of the flat(keep a little pressure against the ring pushing it in while tightening the set screw.
When you have done all that correctly you should have very little 'wiggle' in/out along the axis of the shaft.
I hope this fixes your problem. I I have misunderstood the 'problem', say so!:)
