Sanctuary -- For Now

Life is chaotic, but we can make our sanctuaries.
Here are the latest changes to my spot:
Left side: Based on the Power Pro! Note, about the only visible external difference is those 2 screws below the Quill. That, and the power-cord exit point from one corner of the motor-pan. Everything else is packed inside like 60 pounds of Power-Pro in a 30-pound bag:

Right side: Based on a 1959 vintage base and headstock (restoration of that 3/4 hp machine was posted several weeks ago), with lots of chopping and changing.... is a Shopsmith addict ever done?

Doesn't that carpet make it awful quiet in there?:D
P.S. Never thought of an easily removable headstock. Hmmmmm!

It took a while! I restored that '59 headstock a couple months ago, and I was very attached to it, so I wanted to dedicate it to one of my machines. At the same time I divested myself of some other stuff to make more room. I must have thought about the challenge of re-using my "Shorty OPR station" for 2-3 weeks before I hit on this idea. I just assembled the wood supports last night. These were the >1" thick pieces of hard southern yellow pine (recycled) which the PowerPro ripped through like soft yellow butter.

That hybrid is nifty!!!! I always say that the Shopsmith is a "thinking man's machine". Nice cogitating!:D

I really like the re-use of the waste way tubes...great idea
