I was trying to add pictures of recent work but the site says they have to be 800x600. When I change my pics to that they are widely distorted. Can someone help me out here.
thanks

Hi,
I think the simple answer is that it has to be equal to or smaller the 800x600 limit. So on the program you used to convert you have to use a "set new size by percent of orginal" which you then use equal % for both the width and height and go down until the image fits the dimensions needed.
Or there might be a box to check that says "preserve aspect ratio" and then you can enter either the new width or new height and the other dimension is automaticlly filled in.
A lot of this depends on the program but if you look for some terms like I mentioned you should be able to keep the aspect ratio and not have the images distorted.

Pictures do not need to be 800x600.
They need to NOT EXCEED 800x600.
If you forced the size to that, you introduced the distortion.
That said, reible has given you the correct approach.
My camera has three different levels of resolution. I must use the lowest resolution setting or my pictures will not load to the site.
