Got my pen turning starter kit and this is my first pen. Picture is not very good.
I can't believe how easy it was to make. This could get addictive.

Great start on a fun hobby. I love making pens and each time I do I find myself creating what to me are interesting works of art. Keep up the good work and enjoy where your new artistic hobby takes you. Fjimp

Very nice first pen. Yes, it is addictive. First sign of addiction is when you purchase 10 kits to get the quantity discount. Then you start saving scraps of wood...anything 5.5 inches long and about 3/4" thick. I have a special box that I dig through whenever I need a pen fix. Final stages find you on vacation, looking through wood piles, for small branches from different types of trees, just in case you feel like turning a pen in the afternoon.
Anyway, real nice first pen.
Enjoy.

Here is my first one (made last week). Went pretty smoothly, though I was a little impatient and the brass tube on one of the halves came out while I was milling the end.
I had some trouble getting a press fit with the pocket clip and the end cap...just the end cap alone seemed to be fine, but not both. Whats a likely cause of that.
