Has anyone made the jointer blade sharpener?
I was wondering how it worked?
I now have a jointer, I really don't expect to be using it much at all but I want to sharpen the blades and have it at ready, didn't want to buy the jig that SS sells.
thanks guys for the help on remove the dup. post.

TIA
Since you initiated the thread, you can edit that post but you cannot delete it. Maybe, just maybe, you can delete the 2nd post.
You could do a copy of post #2 and paste it as an edit into post #1 and try to delete post #2 in its entirety. I have never tried this but it seems like it should work.

I believe that until somebody posts to any thread, the initiator of that post can delete it by way of the edit function. There is a box to check and a second place to verify deletion. You also need to specify a 'reason'. The word duplicate is adequate. This is the same as deleting a post. Once the initial post is 'deleted' the thread no longer exists.
Nay! That will NOT work! There ain't no delete boxes to 'check'.
I have not made the PTWFE version, but will post a link to what I have made when I find the pertinent post.
Here tis!
I suggest making one for the jointer as long as this. You may need it 12" long some day. You can mount all three jointer knives at once AND grind them
identically.

See Post #2. The duplicates that cannot be deleted are
both label as post #1.

If you don't want to sharpen them yourself you can google 'sharpening service tuscon' and google will bring up a list of sharpening shops in Tuscon. Chuck's sharpening service on 22nd Street looks to be a good bet.
