Motor Seized Up - Won't Start

Post by ejacobson »

Yikes, I was just crosscutting some 8/4 mahagony and the motor seized up and stopped. When I backed the wood off the blade it did not restart. Now what? I feel like I should crank the speed back to A and try to start it up but I know you're not supposed to turn the speed dial without the motor running. I turned the switch off and unplugged it.

Please help. Thanks!

I just found the answer on the Shopsmith site. I reset the breaker and rotated the disc sander counter-clockwise while backing the speed off to slow. Seems to work normal now.
