Wonder if I can get a little help with this Rockwell router (same model as a Porter Cable 6301). If this is inappropriate here on the SS Forum, maybe someone can direct me to another forum where I might find help?

I picked up this router for next to nothing at the local pawn shop, and want to install it in a router table. presently I use the old greenie with the SS speed increaser for table routing, but having the dedicated router table would he handy.

Here's what I can't figure out: according the exploded view I am missing a spring for the fine adjustment ring (part # 234 on this link ). Since it is not there, I can't figure out how it works with the adjustment ring, which just spins on the top of the base.

Anyone know how this spring is supposed to fit in? Or know someone somewhere else who might be know?

I believe that flat spring merely holds the depth ring in place and provides some drag to prevent the depth ring from turning when you rotate the router motor to adjust the depth of the bit.

The old Rockwell got sold to Porter Cable and for years PC tools were simply relabeled Rockwell tools.
Dewalt now services Delta/PC and depending on where you are there may be a Dewalt/delta/pc service center near you. I know the Dewalt/Delta/PC repair center here in Tampa the people are very willing to help.
