Nobody wants my Greenie

Weel as some of you know from last winter I acquired a 54' Greenie that I completely rebuilt/refurbished. I have been trying to sell it locally but cannot seem to get anyone interested in it. It does need accessories but for a basic machine that is almost new I would think somebody would be interested in purchasing it. I had it listed for $500 but that got zero interest so i lowered the price and that got a few people interested but the fact it isn't totally complete has them backing off. So I figured I would mention it here in case anyone in the northeast area was interested. It is just sitting in my garage waiting to be loved. I have a Mark VII and really don't need this Mark V and would really like to see it go to someone who could truly use it.

What is it 'missing' besides a drill chuck and lathe centers? and a saw blade?

I have saw blades and arbors but the blades are older non-carbide models so not really much use. It needs tail stock centers, a drill chuck, safety mitre gauge handle as the one in the pic is from my Mark VII. Maybe some lathe face plates. All stuff that is easily obtained either through Shopsmith or Ebay as you well know but I guess unless you provide everything with the machine nobody wants to bother with it unless you are like the rest of us here and willing to buy a few things and do a little work. I currently have the price at $300 and that is a killer price for all the crazy work I put into this thing. If it doesn't sell I am not going to lose any sleep just would like to get it into somebodies hands who would/could use it.

If it were me, I would keep it as a backup and a second setup.

Well it is looking like that is what is going to happen as I am having no luck finding anyone who will buy it so I guess it will remain in the inventory.

I with JPG on this one. I tried to sell me Greenie after I got my 85 model. Could not get any buyers so I cut it down to a shorty and kept it for a backup and to be able to set it up to run SPT without doing a changeover on my main unit.

Post on Ebay starting @ $300 and ship if necessary - you'll get someone. That's Beautiful!! I wish my '55 looked so nice - Want to trade & I'll throw down $50 plus my old '55? Kidding.:)

If I were you, I'de post it on craigslist for 500, you wouldn't believe how many local people you'de find looking at it, unless you already have, idk. But try it, make sure to mention the needed parts though, it might turn people off if they just can't see them. Craigslist is free too, so you've got nothing to lose.

I tried Craigslist last year but in my local area here in the NE there has been a glut of machines and they are all selling for $600+ with many accessories so if I listed mine for $500 without many of the main accessories it would just collect dust. I am in the process of acquiring some of the pieces it is missing and i think I may just keep it for now. I did put a ton of sweat and blood into her and I think this is her way of telling me she doesn't want to be thrown away to someone who won't respect and admire her like I do..........:)

i just received a brand new Shopsmith drill chuck, arbor wrench and T handle hex key from an auction I won the other day. Incredibly fast shipping from Walla Walla to CT. I don't think it was three days. I got a 3.5" face plate, upper saw guard and something else that eludes me at the moment. I really only need the lower saw guard and a couple of lathe drive centers to make her complete as a basic machine. I have pretty much everything else. I remember I got a safety miter guage complete which is better than the one i already have so that is going to stay with my Mark VII and a dado insert for the table. I have the dado blade from many years ago that is surprisingly in awesome condition and I have been dying to try it out as the dado i have for my table saw really sucks to use. The SS dado blade really looks like a nice setup and i want to start using it.
