Wall mount Shopsmith

Want to wall mount my shopsmith on the wall like in this photo. Has anyone done this how did you do it? My goal is to use the Shopsmith as a drill press.

Have seen several do that with ER's but not a MKV, In fact I am doing it with one of my ER's this weekend. Will shoot you some pictures if you like afterward. Over on the ER site there are some post of them being mounted this way as dedicated Drill presses. I have one MKV with a SawTrain set up and the other MKV set up for lathe and bandsaw. So will take this ER and dedicate it as my drill press.

The first step would be to find the second of two prototypes that were built.
That pix is of the one currently known! aka Mark 1 I believe.

You sure the picture is not off 90 degrees and that the door does not go to the basement?:D

I don't know. Seems like an awful waste of a perfectly good machine. I guess if you have surplus machines with nothing to do that will work. My guess is they used lag bolts into the studs. You'll need a seriously strong wall to support the weight and of course some help getting it into position.
Is it me or does the cord in the pic seem short?

Mark 1? Isn't that a 510 table?

Looks like a 510, the ER's I have seen mounted use the SS base and set up in the Drill press positon but only a small foot print base instead of the long base. Then use a sturdier mount on the top to secure it to the wall. When I get home tonight I will see where I have the pictures of it.
Yes I agree unless you have an extra machine you don't really use I wouldn't be doing it. I have a 510 a 520 and 5 ER's so is the best use I think of the ER.

Mark 1
after 510 is quite unintuitive indeed!
The Mark 1 was intended to be a striped down(cheaper) bench mounted(like a 10E/ER) model. Never made it to production.

I called shopsmith about the bench mount but they don’t carry any. It might be something they had in the past.
I mainly used the shopsmith for lathe and drill press. I just picked up a Powermatic 90 lathe. So at this point turning it into a nice drill press makes sense in my shop. Don’t have room to keep it full size.
