10ER arbor vs 500 arbor

I've got a '55 Magna. I need a 5/8" arbor for a wobble dado. Is there any reason a 5/8" arbor originally intended for a 10ER won't work on an old 500?
(I've tried to find this by searching back posts, and learned a lot about arbors and applications, but not this particular answer.)

As long as the threads are correct(there were some reverse thread arbors at one time). The set screws may be slotted.

5/8" is 5/8" and the depth is the same.

Reverse threads, slotted set screws....on a 10ER arbor? Doesn't sound like an original arbor from a 10E/10ER. Sounds like someone got a hold of a LH 5/8" motor arbor. With an ER the only time you would need LH threads was if you had a reversible motor.......not the standard at the time. Set screws on 10ER saw arbors used a 1/4" set screw that used a 1/8" allen wrench. The 10ER arbors work fine on a Mark V, just hard to get the Mark V's 5/32" allen wrench in the hole.]

Yer right(as usual!). The lh were Mark 5 stuff but discontinued(wonder why).

As for the set screws, I guess I have a bunch of non-OEM arbors!!!
