Headrest orientation for the 10er

Been awhile since I've posted, but finally have time (and a reason) to jump back online. The move from Denver to Portland went well. Everything seems to have arrived in pretty much the same condition in which it left - which is quite a blessing...
So, now I'm in the process of putting a few of the old machines back together from the pieces they were shipped as and I've noticed something about the headrests. They aren't uniform left side to right side.
On one side, the casting for the knurled bolt protrudes quite a bit. On the other side it is almost "flush" with the rest of the headrest. Does anyone know which side faces out? I did a quick search online, and I'm seeing pictures with all sorts of orientations. Any advice?
Thanks!
