Sharpening bowl gouges

I have brand new Sorsby 1/2" and 1/4" bowl gouges. I know they need sharpening and honing before using them. Can they be sharpened using the SS sharpening guide (555204)? If yes, how? If not, what is the best way to sharpen these gouges?
