Good price in the latest sale email. I'd like to buy it but I'm concerned about the 8 amp rating and my 2 hp HF collector. Anybody out there that could alleviate my fears? I know it's shocking, but some of us are not too current on electrical matters.

I wish I could help you, but unfortunately I can't. I do have the wireless, however it is hooked up to my Shopsmith Dust Collector. I will tell you that it eliminated the floor switch that I had been using (one less wire to trip over).

The spec's on HF.com says it draws 20 Full Load Amps.

I have the over head lights in the shop wired with a remote switch.

Now I can't use a remote for the dust collector. Does anyone know of a remote that is frequency selectable. I know some garage door units are so the technology is there..

Dusty I have the x10 system in my house and I use an appliance module with the wireless remote to run my dust collector in the shop. It is not the best system but it is cheap. I don't recommend the system to home automation as it is not always reliable but for the dust collector in the shop it works great. I have the wireless remote, appliance module, and a tm751 for converting the wireless to power lines. Since the distance is short it works fine. I am getting ready to do the same for my homemade air cleaner on a separate channel so I can control it also all I need is to add another applicance module since I have the tm751 and wireless remote already. http://www.activehomepro.com. I have seen them on ebay also. I will take a picture later when I get out to the shop for you.

The company that makes the wireless switch for SS makes them in two channels but I think SS only carries one. You might also check your local Lowes. Last Christmas they had wireless switches for Christmas lights that were 8 Amp as well. These were available in four different channels (check sticker on the back of package) and sold for about $8, shortly before the holiday they went to 50% off.

I haven't tried one on my DC but they did work well for the outdoor lights.

You got me lookin. I found this but what I also notice is that everything seems to be limited to 15 amp load. Fifteen amps is adequate but I sure would like to have it 20 amp for a bit of leeway.

You will still need the remote and tm751 I saw one on ebay that came with a lamp module cheap. Just search with x10 home automation
