miter gauge knock off

I went to Busy Bee Tools recently to buy a gift for a friend who has a crappy miter gauge on his table saw. I had noticed this ad in their present sale:

I was surprised to see it is nearly identical to the Shopsmith miter gauge:

The grey one is a SS. The green Busy Bee version is made in Tiawan.

For $36.99 you also get the cutoff rod accessory, seen in the middle, above. The bar is 3/4"x3/8" so will not fit a SS. Pretty nice for the price!
