The top Way Tubes on my newly acquired SS 510 has quite a few dents. I presume these came from the previous owner overtightening the head.

Should I replace the top tubes or can I get by with the dents?

I would start by trying to use the way tubes unless you have money you need to rid yourself of.

But seriously, if you rotate the tubes so that the top side (where the wedge locks contact) are on top, these should work fine.

Realizing that we can not see the dents.

Nor will you if you rotate then enough!:D;)

another option would be to flip them with the bench tubes. they are different sizes so a pair would have to be cut in order to be 3/4 of an inch differrent. Only down side to this method would be an SS a little shorter, but not by much, if I am correct

Don't try that with a 'Greenie' or Gilmer 'Goldie'.

Or contact me for a replacement set of tubes.

If the tubes are straight, I would just flip them over. I had some pretty severe pitting on the tops of my tubes and that was a satisfactory solution for me.
