Hey, I was wandering were the best place to start when rebuilding a shopsmith 10er? I found it in my mother-in-laws yard I'd love to get this thing working it'll be a great addition to the shop I'm putting together.

Go and look at this group and we are devoted to rebuilding and using our ER's along with most any Shopsmith item. I have rebuild two and have three more to rebuild. They are like a Tank and are really built to last. Like any SS tools is. Skip started this group and you should find anything you need to help you put your old machine into like new condition. Welcome to the ER world also.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. And thanks for the welcome, look forward to learning all i can about the 10er's, And yes it is a tank it I found it sitting out side infested with mice and birds nests not to mention being submerged underwater for about three days. If your interested I'll post pics as soon as I can.

FIRST THING is to take a BEFORE pic and post it here. Then start taking it apart to see what needs to be done.
