I am not familiar with this tool but just found it interesting. It is of course a production saw rather than a hobby unit.

This machine is for cutting Formica counter top miters. It also has 3 router motors that route for the connecting bolts by the manual handle bar looking device.

Actually those beam saws were quite popular in commercial shops back before the European style panel saw became common place. This is a modern beam saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvvfifppWzA&NR=1

I just saw a beam saw listed on Craig's List a day or two ago ($5k) and had never heard of one before. I had to look it up to see what it was.
