I am looking for the plans for the stream engine train that was in the Nov/Dec 1983 Hands On Magazine. It was different than the one that is available on line now. Any old timers on this forum that might have a copy of that train? If so can you email me a copy of the plans?

I have the plans which I scanned from the edition of the Hands On Magazine but have no way of knowing how to email them to you. Your profile didn't show any information and I see that this is your first post.

I have update profile and also sent an email to you. I am a retired electrician and have woodworking & motorcycling as my hobbies. Have been doing woodworking since the early 1980's and the shopsmith fit my space and billfold. Still have the old girl and use it all the time. Have added other tools as time went on.

If you get bored with that train plan or you finish it, here is one I did in High School and it drove me nuts. The plans needed modified the whole way through but if you could figure out the differences and pull it off, it comes out well. The plans are available on cherry tree Here

I didn't post this to showcase a project I did, just to share one that weever could do if he dared. This was my senior class project (2003) that my shop teacher bet me I couldn't finish. I proved him wrong with two weeks left of the school year, of course I worked on it two periods a day and about another 100 hours at home, but hey who is counting

Anyway, if anyone wants a project that is fun but frustrating all the same, try out this one. So many pieces were drawn or illustrated incorrectly or sized disproportionately it wasn't even funny. But It did come together well enough that I was happy with it. If there is interest, I can post a few closer up pics and you can see if you dare to try haha

I actually would be curious to get the other train plans to try out the shopsmith version.
