Ok, So you can't sell in the forum. Check. I got that down but at the same point, there was a what's in the box thread about just paying for shipping so I hope this isn't against the rules. If it is, let me know and I will take it down.

I have a few pieces from my old shop smith before it was upgraded to the 510 that I would like to give away. I Just want the shipping covered to offset the cost and you can have the pieces.

I would very much prefer these go to someone who needs them, not someone who wants to get them and sell them on evilbay. If you are refurbishing a SS and need a piece then great, I hope you can use them.

What I have is the upper and lower blade guard for the 500 series. I had the 510 and already gave them away and now I have the 520 and I don't need the old guards. Maybe someone here does.

I also have the old table for the 500, don't really need that piece either and it has sat for the last 15 years. (no it is not rusted and still tilts just fine)

I will have to look and see what else I have but to a sense I am doing spring cleaning and I would love to be able to help out a fellow forum member who needs a part and doesn't want to deal with evilBay. :)

Once again, if this is against the rules, sorry, I couldn't find where give away items were. I will take it down if need be.

I will get a picture posted if someone needs one.

I live in ohio and will ship to you through the post office. Last item i shipped from there weighing 20 pounds came to $17. These don't weight that much so it would be less than that.

I gave a friend a 500 but it was missing the blade guards. Later I found a lower blade guard but he is still missing the upper plastic guard and the special block it mounts into. Unfortunately I an in NS, Canada, but do have a daughter in Nashville who can send it on to me. If still available I would love to get those pieces. Please let me know.

TIA!

I believe the upper guard is metal not plastic. At least that is the guard I have. Maybe I was mistaken as to which set it goes with. I will get a picture of it when I get home and post it here.

I will take a picture of the guard when I get home and post here so you can see which it is. To be honest, it may not be the 500 guard if the previous post is right about the top guard being plastic. I was pretty darn sure though that they are the 500 guards.

Hopefully a picture tonight will help clear the confusion. You will get first dibs on the lower guard and our canadian friend can have the upper if it works for him :)

As long as the project stays with you and you don't plan on selling it, I am happy with that.

PM me your addresses so I can figure out shipping.

Like I said earlier, I will post some pictures.

Looks like I might be too late, but just in case... I would like to adapt the 500 table to my 10er. If something changes with it, please let me know...

Should have added that I could really use a Mark V miter, if you have one of those... I just learned that the bandsaw I use on my 10er uses the Mark V miter, not the 10er one.

Thanks again...

spiderclimber, I believe the early 500's had a metal guard and later ones a plastic, so if yours is metal and someone else can use it, please ignore my query. My friend is looking for the plastic see thru variety. BTW, I think it is nice of you to offer these items to forum members.
