Parts Needed-Newbie W/New Old SS

I just joined am very excited to find all of this expertise. I hope this is the right forum to seek some parts. I'd rather buy something from you folks than most other places that don't care. Just given an old Model V (probably 1985) that needs 1) the power coupling unit; 2) the control handle(inside gear is deformed); 3)the miter gauge and safety handle;4) and probably some parts to complete the lathe (still trying to figure that out). I've got a jointer with it but I'm have no idea what it may need as yet.
Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks

Having read everything through 5:15PM (PDT). 5/2/11, please ignore this request. I saw a post before I joined in which a generous soul was giving parts away. I had no idea that offering to buy used parts was against the rules. If I knew how to delete this I'd do it. Thank you for the suggestions.

Anyway, list some of the things you need and you never know who might have what.

Isn't it still selling on the forum using the PM, that's provided by SS?

Yep! A pretty thin line indeed!
However I believe there is a difference(slight) between an offer to sell, and a request to 'buy'.
The sponsor does not want to offer a trading post type 'feature'. I believe they do not want to be in a position of having to arbitrate any 'issues'.
If a 'deal' is 'done' out of public 'view', then they are 'out of the loop'.
In addition the admin has been tolerant of such actions and I feel it is ok to do so until they say otherwise explicitly to those 'details'.
A couple of members have 'offers' to sell in their signature lines. Not judging, merely pointing out that it is being tolerated.

Apologizies Beeg if I wasn't supposed to post that. I am on the same page as JPG of it it is not public on the forum it is not regulated and the moderator won't have to deal with someone getting ripped off and upset they didn't get paid.
It is probably a very thin line but I saw someone tell them to check their PM and wanted to make sure the new forum member understood what that meant.

Someone bends the rules regarding the subject of "Using the Forum for Commercial Purpose" nearly everyday. Why should anyone apologize. If you feel guilty, just don't do it. If the Moderator feels you are guilty, you will know it when you get cutoff from the forum.
Being on the wrong side of a thin line is none the less on the wrong side.
Just don't ruin a good thing for all of us!
Use email not the Private Message (PM) provisions of the forum.
If you want to be contacted by email, put your email address in your Personal Profile.
If you don't want to be contacted by email, do not list your email address (as many have done).
