Mystery Jointer

I finally brought home my first Shopsmith last night. It's a 1991 510 in pretty good condition, recently referbished. Everything appears ok, but I still plan to go over it very closely before I try any work with it.
The jointer that came with it is odd. I ran it last night, but didn't look too closely before loading it up, since I was mainly looking at the Mark V. It has the Magna logo on the blade guard but when I looked for a serial number to date it, I found the oddity. The metal plate shows a mfg date of 1982 (for a Magna?). The serial # of 0172 doesn't match '82 on Shopsmith's chart. Finally, "Made in Taiwan",... awwww nuts. I sure didn't see this last night. The plate is a little rippled, so I suppose it could have been added later for some reason. The Jointer fits Mark V nicely, so I didn't have reason to suspect a clone when we ran it last night. Now I wonder.
Anyone have an idea of what I actually have? There's a break in one of the cast parts that should probably be replaced. It looks like there's enough to hold it solidly for now, but I wonder what you guys think. I also want to get my hands on a manual.
