Acquired a ridgid miter saw(MS1050) yesterday at a garage sale(cheap}.

Needs TLC!

Anyone have any experience with their customer service?

They have 'service centers' all over(but none 'locally').

I need new arbor drive gear/shaft.

I have a very recent experience with them. I had bought a router 3 years ago that had a lifetime service agreement but they never got my paper work and since it was not completed in time I did not qualify for the LSA on the router I was kinda bummed. I just bought there impact driver for a job and it also has the LSA. This time I called to be sure they saw my registration and was going to ask if I needed to send my paperwork registered mail to be sure I get the LSA. They sounded like they were in the states one plus. They said it did not matter if I sent it registered because it takes so long to process the paperwork anyway. The good thing they did was registered my router with the LSA. So it was pleasant and they did above and beyond for me. I really do like their tools for the extra feature they add. I sub out for a remodeling company and their tools hold up well.

No Joy!

Finally got through through to ridgid tech service(parts folks had no knowledge of my model miter saw). Obsolete!!! No parts available(except those used in the 'current' model). No motor/power train parts including arbor!

I be disappointed! and spoilied by SS!;)

Anybody know how to replace teeth on a spiral gear?:D

Boston Gear sells lots of gears. Perhaps they can match what you need.

A long shot, but worth a look since it appears the gear is pressed on the shaft. Stay tuned!

This does not sound good. I wonder what is going to happen when my tools go obsolete. They have a lifetime service agreement? It may mean if they cant fix it they replace it with the newer model? This LSA was one of the reasons I bought this brand. Of course the LSA is not transferable to another owner! Thank you for the insight.

I doubt they had a LSA when mine was new.

Just what does your LSA say?
