Base arm/arm lock knob

i just got a Mark V and trying to use the drill press the arm lock knob is about 1/4 inch to far to the right of the drilled hole on the base arm. How can I adjust this?

You are referring to having the setup in drill press and the locking screw in the tilting base which keeps the setup from falling back into lathe?

That locking bolt is designed to be just that way, You cannot adjust it It will be about a half a hole off and that will hold the machine in the upright position tightly. I think everyone has noticed that and thought the same thing when they first got their MKV

The beveled end of the screw presses against the beveled side of the 'drilled' hole in the base. This allows the base to be slightly loose and still not fall back down. It also forces the base to a more fully erect position.

Although I can't view your photo, the offset is normal! That's why the screw has a pointed end and the hole is cone shaped. Only the sides rub. Remember to use hand/finger tightness only to tighten the screw. Do not tighten with an allen wrench.
