I recently viewed finishing session in #4 that featured Nitric Acid. I was so impressed that I want to try it. I have a just completed poplar table that the patina shown would look great on.

Has anyone purchased some and if so where did you get it?

What do you call the beakers with glass tops and where do you get them (hopefully the same company)

Check out this thread. You should be able to get the glass stoppered flask (and even the nitric acid) from a laboratory supply firm like Fisher Scientific.

Got mine from a chemical supply house here in the Dayton area -- Gem City Chemicals. By the way, I bought a gallon of laboratory-grade nitric in 1986. Or maybe it was '85. Could have been '87, too. Anyway, it was about 20 years ago and I still have about 1/3 of a gallon left. I wish the tung oil finish that I'm so fond of would stretch as far.

With all good wishes,
