I was going thru some of my Father-In-Laws belongings when I found this Yuba newsletter from October, '58. How rare are these??

This is what is said on page 2:
"In mid-1958, Magna Power Tool Corporation’s resources were merged with those of Weber Engineered Products, Inc., to form a new company named Yuba Power Products, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio. Yuba Power Products, Inc. is a subsidiary of the world-wide Yuba Consolidated Industries, Inc., San Francisco.

Weber Engineered Products was one of the pioneers in power garden equipment, an industrial leader in development and production of garden tillers, lawn mowers and other garden equipment.

All the high precision production equipment formerly used for the manufacture of SHOPSMITH and MAGNA Tools has been installed in the Yuba plant at Cincinnati. Here, the same skilled workers will continue to produce SHOPSMITH, MAGNA, and the new YARDSMITH outdoor power tools.

The parent company, Yuba Consolidated Industries, includes such widely diverse industries as steel fabrication, manufacturing, electronics, mining and a variety of consumer products. Mining operations cover gold in California and tin in Portugal. There are Yuba plants throughout the United States. Yuba representatives are located in many foreign countries.

Shown below is the famous Yuba trademark which you will now see, not only on SHOPSMITH but on products ranging from nuclear components to gigantic atomic power plants, bridges and earth-moving equipment used to build highways that span the nation".

That's cool. No doubt if these were ever made they would still be running and there would be entire forums about them.

That brings back a few memories. I used to have a tiller that converted to a mower as well as a pump for water or a generator. The hitch is that mine was called a Power Handle and was made by Toro or at least that was the name on it

Far more advanced products than what I saw at that time. I never heard of a riding mower until the late 1960's at Sear, Roebuck & Co. And, the tillers I saw were not nearly this advanced, either.

This is how we in the old tractor hobby see the one wheel Choremasters today. Thousands of them all over the country...
I am not sure that I have ever gone to a tractor show where I did not see at least one of them. They are so common at shows that a good friend of mine that passed last week and I (and some other friends) had a running joke about them.
I wanted one of them after running one in a family friend's garden about 1956 or so. A neighbor across the road had one that pushed a reel mower for a long time. No, I don't have one "yet" but I'm not dead yet either.
I do have at least ten 2 wheel garden tractors...
Due to their popularity as "butt buggies" they sell pretty high at tractor show auctions.

Am I the only one who saw the yardsmith title and immediately imagined a lawnmower chassis with tubes to mount a motor from a shopsmith and a hex-key attached lawnmower blade under the mounting deck?
