Mortising Chisel Sharpening

If I remember correctly, in Nick's Sawdust Session on using the mortising chisel, he just sharpened the chisel by hand using the appropriately-sized grinding stone. Nick has some comments in there also about the gap between the end of the chisel and the tip of the bit- you may have to adjust that gap for different woods. I don't remember the details, but I'd take Nick's advice if your system works for some woods but not others.
