I was asked about the process of making a bowl and rememberd I had a bowl that I had taken pictures of at different stages. I saw a feature ring some place and thought I would give it a try, I had no plans but I liked it. So this is how I went about it. I think it turned out nice, what do you shopsmith guy's think?

That is a beautiful bowl. Lots of cutting involved for that project.

I admire your craftsmanship and maybe as much - I admire your patience. There is no way that I would ever see that project to a successful conclusion.

BTW Welcome to the forum. Get prepared...I expect that you will get many questions.

I forgot to mention, the best thing about this bowl is the wood was free!
It's scrap flooring that I got from a flooring store. Just ran it through the planer and hoped it didn't get to thin. It came out about 1/2" thick, just enough!

Very nice looking bowl. Curious as what you used to cut the pieces and method to get the angles on them. Must have taken many hours to get them all cut and glued up before turning. You definitely have more patience than I do for taking on a project such as this. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

It must take a lot of hours to do something like that. Lots of accurate measuring and cutting, not counting the careful glue ups. You have a lot of talent sir.
