They are clearing them out everywhere. The nearest I can find one is 150 miles away and they only have one. :(

I can only report that the Oswego IL store has none left after my visit this morning.

This is about as good a deal as when I got my anniversary edition PC 690 in a close out at Sears some years back.

Thanks for the heads up!

I did find one of these available at a local Lowes, but it showed the price as
$94.80. Those nearby with the $39.50 price were out of them.

Hmmmm! Maybe the number of woodworkers isn't disappearing as fast as some think.

I checked in Gurnee, IL. They were out plus every other store in a 20 mi radius. I could see some of the sales history on their screen and it said they sold 1 this year and 1 last year so I'm guessing these are going to be pretty hard to find now since they probably never stocked more than 1 in the store.

Man I got all excited, however I was thinking 618pk which is the kit with both a fixed and plunge base. Went to my friendly Lowes and checked. 618PK is still $219. Undanted I went immediately to the manager. Super nice. However the price was still $219. Checked the other stores in area all the same price $219. By this time the manager was sure I had been smoking rope.

I don't know why I took Dw618 and turned it into the combo kit but I did. One thing I found out was the 618PK is selling for $219 but does go on sale for $180 from time to time.

Through a whole bunch of wild circumstances I own the D handle base and really nice edge guide for the 618. I would either like to get one or sell my parts as they aren't much good without the router. Although the do look good and that is eye candy to me.

Most stores in So-Cal are out -- a few have the routers -- one was showing a price of $42 and another $69 but online was something like $139.. I did find one for $39.50 but would take a bit of a drive to get it out in Burbank.. Perhaps I could get Leno to get it for me.. and drop it off in one of his many cars! :D
