Tenon Master Refurb

Just acquired a badly weathered tenon master with the miter bar and knob and??? missing. Yes on e-bay!

Any one got a copy of the instructions that come with a new one?

A pix of the missing stuff would be helpful(I am not sure how the miter bar is adjusted in/out)[screw through miter bar and a plate secured by the knob??]. Is there something to keep the miter bar parallel to the work surface?(miter bar in a slot in the 'plate'?)

The weathered wooden trunion should be simple enough to duplicate. The carriage bolts etc. and de-staco clamp are salvageable. The casting is only somewhat corroded on the unpainted(milled) surface.

Looks like a project piece. You could probably buy another one on Feebay for the price Shopsmith wants for the missing parts.

Yep! Not planning on ss as a parts source(for the reason just mentioned).

Miter Bar (9) length = 6"?

Base Plate = 3.245" x ? Square? Stud centered both ways? 1/4" thick?

It would appear the miter bar to workpiece face is fixed???

Indeed it does!!!:)

Be it correct that the 4 corners do not touch the work table, but that the base plate rides on the table surface???(plate = 5/16", corners proud by 1/4")

It appears the long side of the base plate protrudes 1/2" out from the 'back' side.

You are correct, the corners do not touch by about 1/16". When you assemble the jig the short side of the plate is towards the miter slot. The large "+" adjustment gives you about 1-3/8" of movement (plate extending out the back side by 1-1/8" to hidden by a bit more 1/4").

Not sure how many versions of this have been made. The one I have is from I think 1991 or so.

That is a 'detail]used[/B] would be appreciated. My simplistic current understanding is limited to making grooves for splines in pix frames. I have not seen any information in ptwfe re how it is used(or a sawdust session).

I do hope there is much I have missed!

Since I need to fabricate the plate etc., a better understanding of its uses would help me to determine if any slight design modification(s) would 'help'.

Oh! Oh!

Ouch!!!! I just experienced a flash of potential understanding!!! Is it possible the plate has a slot which holds the stud captive(under cut slot like a milling machine slot/t slot) that allows the plate to slide that 1 3/8"????

Pix of that side would be most illustrative!!!!
