I finally found a free day in the shop. I decided on a couple of dump trucks for the Guys (twin boys 2.5 years). The plans were in Woodworking July 2011. I used them as a guide but decided on strength rather than precision. They took them out for a drive (pull) today and loved them. Fun is fun.

I love it! Great project for the kiddos. I need to make the same for my two grandsons. I really liked your idea of going for strength over precision. After all, we're talking about little boys!

Nice work

Great looking trucks. I like homemade wooden toys.

They look great. Nicely done. They don't look finished. Did you apply something to protect them?

Watco Danish Oil. My thoughts being that the guys would chip and scratch any hard finish. Also if left outside they will weather rather than peel.

Great work!

I think I get the greatest enjoyment from making toys. Maybe because someone else will get so much enjoyment from them.

Great looking trucks Gary. Nothing like having a hand made toy that hopefully one day will be looked on with memories of how much fun and enjoyment they gave to those little guys. I think they have so much more meaning compared to a factory made toy probably made in some foreign country.
