On a completely unrelated note...thanks to (i believe it was) 8iowa for mentioning the use of wax paper in his shop. A cheap way to prevent glue drips from messing up my work bench. Also helps once in a while with sliding applications on the table saw.
Also, I'd forgotten the raw power and pure joy of using a corded electric drill. If an outlet is handy I don't bother with my cordless drills any longer.

Been there done that and I have the t-shirt.
I once built a cherry cradle for my first granddaughter. I built it out of cherry adn it took probably 40 hours of work. I can not tell you how many people had seen that cradle through the years and come to me and say you have got to build one of those for me.
I say okay but understand at the time the Cherry in it cost me $200 and I would guess it would be more expensive now. Also I put 40 hours into it but now that I have done one I figure I could do another in 20 hours or so. I pay myself $10 an hour so the cost would be around $400 or more.
Know how many I have built? That's right the one for my granddaughter.
They go to Wally World buy a painted MDF unit for $150 and say can you imagine that guy trying to charge me more than $400 for the same thing I can buy for $150? The nerve of the guy.

I've got a £5 new corded drill that has a Kreg pocket hole drill bit attached and gets used for nothing else.
