Worth the $$$ if it does indeed operate properly. Includes a bandsaw, a jointer, a shaper fence and I cannot discern the rest.

$700 was too high.

Offer $250 and go from there.

700 Hundred was good if it were a 510 this is a 500. But I think 300.00 is a good price or even the 325.00 what he is asking is not bad. IMO

The difference between 500, 505, 510 and 520?

Thanks Bigjohn1. Being a newbie can you tell me the major differences between the above models? Is the unit the same but with table differences or what? Thank for your help here..

The big difference is the tables.

Rick
Most of the changes are in the table, Older models have 3/4 horse motors and the newer ones have 1 1/8 HP. If you can pickup a mark v model 510 or 520 for a good price great If not the older ones work just fine the more you can get with the machine the better, Like band saw,Jointer,Jigsaw, belt sander, and so on.
I have a mark v greenie and a newer mark v around 1978 and they both work fine. I would like to have the 510 carrage upgrade and table and we will at some point model 510 go for 400 dollars and up.
Hope this helps there are a few more reasons for some models but no big difference until you hit the mark 7 some crazy high speeds goning on there
and they may have a GFI power problem to work out that is just what I hear.

I will check the serial nbr on it.

Thanks BigJohn1. I will check the serial nbr and hope that will tell me if I am getting 1 1/8 hp. I assume I can always upgrade the tables (can I?) so I will try to get the bigger hp motor. Do you agree?

The table upgrade costs a chunk of $. The 3/4 HP motor is not bad at all and the 1 1/8 hp motor is cheaper than the tables.

That one has a 1 1/8 hp motor!

If you want it, ya best just go get it. At that price, you will not get hurt($).

Again assuming it works properly.
