Is better access possible?

I have large hands and find it difficult to get inside the motor head for routine maintenance. Replacing my pork chop was excruciating!
Has anyone experimented with enlarging the hole on the back side to make access easier?

I kinda like just dropping the motor down and out.
Makes life so much nicer and you always can clean the sheaves while your at it.

You can always drop the motor pan then you have lots of room.

Remove belt cover after setting to high speed
Remove drive belt from motor pulley
Raise to vertical
Reverse table in carriage so the table creates a platform under the motor pan.
Take 5 screws out of motor pan and let the motor etc. set on the table.
All the innards are now quite accessable

and if the pork chop needs replacing again I will do as JPG suggests.
I was actually thinking more about routine maintenance like cleaning and lubing the pork chop, oiling the upper sheave and lubricating the locks. Dropping the motor seems like a bit much for those short tasks that need to be done fairly often.

IMHO worth it to be able to:
