I think I found a really great material to make miter slides for my SS. After giving up the idea to widen my SS miter slots, and not liking the price of all the SS and after market miter Slides I went to Home Depot looking for a material to make slides out of.
I think I found a really good solution in the flooring department. Turns out Pergo basic laminant flooring is the perfect thickness for the SS miter slot. The laminate fits ine miter slot and is ferfectly flush with the top of the table. Of course it dosent fit into the "T" slot.
Pergo laminante is a composite material so I am pretty sure its not suseptable to humidity movement like solid wood is.
I found an open bundle on 15% off sale so I purchased 8 flooring sections for about $17.00. I am building a crosscut sled tomorrow and will let everyone know how it comes out
