For the planer upgrade project I put together a wood hardness chart. This is a draft and I would like your feedback.

You can find the pdf here =>https://beasleymhb.home.comcast.net/~beasleymhb/Wood Hardness Chart. v2.PDF

Very nice chart, gpmark. I especially like the grouping together of various hardness levels by color. Makes it easy to locate similarly hard woods. Thanks for the effort.

What's the red, green and yellow highlights for? I suspect I know, but want to hear it from you. Also where did ya get the hardness numbers?

The numbers come from the Janka tests. The colors match with the Pro Planer definition of feed speeds for hard (red), medium (or average, yellow), and soft (green). There is pretty good correlation on this from several sources.
