Survived Shipping

Post by james.miller »

Wow, I just received a package from SS and I was sure the Aluminum Triangles 730505 would be damaged.

The first time they sent them to me they were both damaged by slightly dented corners on the shipping box.

Just goes to show that you cant tell what the condition of the contents is until you open the box.

BTW, large triangles are very handy to have in the shop.

I certainly hope someone from Shopsmith shows that picture to Fed Ex.

The first sliding crosscut table I received from SS was damaged and had to be returned. I think FedEx is getting pretty lax on their quality control. Maybe it's time to switch carriers. I can't remember ever returning a UPS shipment due to poor handling.

Recently UPS has been doing the best job. Unfortunately they have their bad days as well.

The last time I got a box delivered looking that bad I neglected to tip (bribe) a delivery worker in New York City at the Convention Center.

Wow! I never expected anyone was having problems with Fed EX parcels from Shopsmith. Mine have always arrived within a week from shipping date and in excellent shape.

Even the original shipment from ABF contained good cartons. I still have them.
