Didn’t have one
Saw it for sale
Looked good
Arrived perfect
I now own a SS strip sander to add to my collection.
Going to see if I can get some sanding strips local so I can play this weekend.

Heh, same thing happened to me today. Found a Joint-Matic for a screaming deal up here...came with a stand that had a set of drawers already built in
some rust, so it will need to be cleaned up...thats ok.
Interestingly enough, this is another instance of first getting the documentation but not the part, and only then finding the item later.

Try Sears. The last time I bought belts they had them in stock. They used to sell a strip sander that used 1" X 42" belts.

Be sure to lubricate the two plastic idler wheels (#17 on exploded view). They need a few drops of oil occassionally.

sears had some, as did my local woodcraft. my local sears had a very small selection, mostly the coarser grits. woodcraft had more of the fine grits.
note that while watching some of the SS training videos, there was the claim made that the SS belts are cloth backed instead of paper backed. As a result they supposedly do better on curved parts and such. Granted, this was a salesman video, so its all part of the pitch.

thanks guy, Sears had some.
works fine, got to buy more hubs and couplers nows. tired of sharing and the tucson heat kinda wears them out.
now for another project, wife put the thumbs down on an end table.

While you are ordering hubs and couplers, make sure to buy a few green sanding belts. After you wear out the sears belts, you will be surprised how long the green ones will last. And they cut quite fast!

True True True. Clearly worth the dollars. Yes I will buy them again although I suspect it will be awhile before I need them. Fjimp
