I love this forum, check in several times a day and read every post. I like the feeling of community and shared interest. I don't find writing a quick or easy process but I do post if I feel I have something of value to add to the discussion.
I also belong to several Yahoo groups, I find the format there is not as easy to navigate and since the "improvements"
Yahoo made earlier this year the traffic has dropped to almost nothing.
The one thing I do like about the Yahoo sites is the
Files section which allows reference material to be stored and easily found and downloaded by other users.
This summer I got interested in turning pens and joined the
IAP (International Association of Penturners) forum. The part of that site that I have used the most is the
Library which contains Tutorials written by the members and stored as PDF files.
I was happy to see that the IAP forum is powered by
vBulletin software, as is this forum.
That means that it should also be technically possible to implement a
Library section here.
I would like to hear what others think, but I believe this could provide a more flexible format for tutorials and articles such as the ones that have been written by JPG, reible, mickyd and others over the years and also make them more accessible to the other users of this forum.
